happy 49th to The Doctor

49 years ago today Doctor Who premiered in the UK and is today one of the most well known and beloved science fiction shows of all time. 11 actors have played the mysterious "Doctor Who" a being who belongs to the ancient race known as Time Lords, though he looks human, each time he "dies" he is reborn in a new form with new personality alongside his new looks. 35 different people have played the part of companion to the Doctor, each time accompanying the Doctor on wild and unpredictable adventures through the space/time continuum.
